About the role
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to be responsible for maintaining aspects of the company's IT network, desktops and servers, and security systems. This role ensures that IT infrastructure runs smoothly, efficiently, and securely. The IT Support Engineer will troubleshoot problems, configure and upgrade hardware/software, and support the technology needs of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- User and Device Management:
- Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access rights across multiple systems. Manage software installations, upgrades, and licensing.
- Develop and maintain scripting to improve efficiency of user management.
- Manage technology device deployment, maintenance and service requests (i.e. laptops, desktops, phones, TVs, printers).
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to internal staff and resolve IT issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain ticketing system to track user requests. Coordinate with stakeholders on establishing processes for user requests and request status information sharing.
- Additional Areas of Focus:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure office WiFi and LAN, and user VPN access.
- Oversee the implementation or improvement of user data backups and disaster recovery strategies. Ensure regular backup testing and recovery protocols are in place.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent work experience is acceptable.
- 1-5 years of experience in IT administration, network management, or systems administration.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS environments.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure is a plus.
- Proficiency in administering Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange or Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Scripting knowledge, experience or strong desire to learn.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
