About the role

As Coinmerce continues to grow, we are looking for a Head of Business Development to lead and drive strategic growth. This senior role will be crucial in forming key partnerships, expanding our market presence, and executing new opportunities. You will play a central role in scaling Coinmerce to new heights, leading a team of business development professionals, and working cross-functionally with various teams to meet business objectives.

Strategic Leadership & Growth
  • Define and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company vision, revenue goals, and market trends.

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize growth opportunities across markets, segments, and product lines (including Earn, Staking, and Trading).

  • Drive company roadmap and innovation by writing business papers, setting KPIs, and delivering strategic timelines.

  • Conduct market, competitor, and regulatory analysis to inform executive decision-making.

Trading & Financial Strategy

  • Oversee the expansion and optimization of the trading book (lending/borrowing), including counterparty onboarding, risk frameworks, and loan agreements.

  • Strategize and scale trading initiatives, such as airdrop/launchpool farming and revenue-generating trades.

  • Execute high-value OTC trades (crypto and fiat) and manage liquidity across venues and counterparties.

  • Analyze and optimize collateral structures, interest rates, and term negotiations with financial institutions and market makers.

Product & Platform Development

  • Lead product development efforts in line with strategic goals by introducing, improving, or retiring platform features.

  • Oversee listing, delisting, and asset management processes, including swaps, contract monitoring, and validator onboarding.

  • Enhance the customer journey through process optimization, reconciliation improvements, and wallet infrastructure development.

Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth

  • Build, maintain, and scale relationships with key partners: exchanges, DeFi protocols, custodians, financial institutions, and tech vendors.

  • Lead high-value partnership negotiations and ensure contract alignment with legal, compliance, and financial frameworks.

  • Attend global crypto events to identify strategic alliances and expand business presence.

  • Drive strategic collaborations across departments and align on joint initiatives and shared KPIs.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing Business Development team, currently including 3 direct reports.

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.

  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and accountable culture.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, legal, finance, marketing, compliance, and tech teams to deliver business goals.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee onboarding and KYC/KYB lifecycle for institutional partners and high-value clients.

  • Manage validator integrations, hard fork monitoring, asset tracking, and contract updates.

  • Ensure accurate administration and compliance for all partnership agreements.

  • Support internal finance teams with reconciliation and settlement operations.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales leadership roles, preferably in the fintech, crypto, or blockchain industries.

  • Proven track record of scaling revenue, forming strategic partnerships, and achieving ambitious growth targets.

  • Deep understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and the fintech ecosystem.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex partnerships.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a hands-on approach to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
