About the role
The CFO is responsible for the strategic and financial leadership of Coinmerce Group. The role focuses on profitable, scalable growth and developing a solid financial foundation that meets the requirements of regulators, investors, and partners. Coinmerce is operating in a regulated, fast-growing environment. The CFO ensures that the financial foundation, governance, and reporting quality are fit for scale and fully compliant with MiCAR and other applicable regulations.
Core ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Capital Structure- Running a finance function that supports Coinmerce Group's growth plans and MiCAR requirements..
- Maintaining relationships with investors, banks, auditors, and regulators.
- Finance, Control & Reporting
- Responsible for all financial processes, including accounting, controlling, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), and treasury.
- Implementing scalable reporting structures (P&L, cash flow, KPI dashboards).
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS/NL-GAAP, audit requirements, and European financial regulations.
- Optimizing working capital, cash flow, and financial efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development- Managing a finance organization of approximately 20 FTE, including accounting, FP&A and treasury.
- Creating a high-performance culture with clear responsibilities and growth paths.
- Coaching and supporting second-line leaders (controllers, treasury)
- Operational Excellence
- Digitizing and automating financial processes (ERP, BI, crypto-accounting).
- Improving data quality and reporting for faster and better-informed decision-making.
Experience and Skills- Minimum 10 years of experience in finance or strategy, of which at least 3 years in a CFO or VP Finance role within a scale-up or FinTech company.
- Strong leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary finance teams (10–20 FTE).
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS/NL-GAAP and multi-currency treasury management.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality and operational execution power.
- Experience with supervisory structures (DNB, AFM, or comparable EU regulators) is a plus.
- Experience with digital currencies, blockchain, or custody structures is a plus.
Education- MSc in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Registered Accountant (RA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or comparable qualification is a plus.
