About the role

As we continue to scale our diversified crypto services, we are seeking a seasoned Group Chief Compliance & Risk Officer (Group CCRO) to provide independent second-line oversight and strategy across the holding company. You will act as a vital countervailing power to executive decision-making, ensuring our group-wide operations remain controlled, ethical, and integrity-driven.

Responsibilities:

  • Framework Design: Define and maintain the Group Compliance & Risk Framework, including Risk Appetite (KRI/limits) and minimum standards across all entities.

  • Governance & Oversight: Appoint and oversee entity-level compliance/risk functions, ensuring their adequacy and the effectiveness of local control frameworks.

  • Monitoring & Challenge: Perform group-wide monitoring activities and provide independent challenge to executive decisions at the group level.

  • Culture Leadership: Define and promote a group-wide risk and compliance culture focused on accountability, "speak-up" initiatives, and ethical conduct.

  • Risk Mitigation: Manage group concentration and interdependency risks, including intragroup services, ICT (DORA), and critical third-party exit strategies.

What you bring:

  • Experience: 15+ years in senior compliance and risk management (financial and non-financial) within complex group structures and regulated financial services.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in crypto-asset services, asset management (AIFMD), and liquidity provision/market-making activities.

  • Regulatory Mastery: Extensive exposure to Dutch and EU frameworks, specifically MiCAR, AML/CFT, DORA, and direct experience with AFM/DNB supervisory expectations.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in designing risk governance models and managing ICT/outsourcing risks within a high-performance tech environment.

  • Soft Skills: An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to challenge the Board constructively while remaining open, curious, and supportive of sustainable growth.

Nice to have:

  • Existing relationships or a proven track record of successful engagement with EU financial regulators.

  • Fluency in Dutch is a significant advantage given our headquarters and regulatory landscape.
